•Responsible for providing job-specific pricing to customer(s) in an accurate and reliable manner so that the customer(s) can bid on Commercial and Multi-Family Projects.
•Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all assigned Commercial products.
•Meet Slakey Standard of “no late Quotes” with 100% accuracy.
•Actively pursue closing sales and opportunities for additional sales by interacting directly with customer or in support of Slakey’s sales teams.
•Achieve Quoted Sales and GP% goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: (may perform one or more of the following)
a. Maintain working knowledge of all assigned Commercial products.
b. Reliably respond to all requests for Quotes from Customers, Slakey Branches, and Sales team members within the time specified by the Customer (usually the following business day for replacement work or before the bid day for other work).
c. For Quotes requiring more than 1 business response time, provide an acknowledgement to the Quote requestor (customer, sales persons, etc.) that the Quote request is being worked on and when to expect completion.
d. Quoters accurately perform basic equipment takeoffs from plans when necessary to prepare Quote (approximately 20% of time)
e. Estimators accurately read plans and perform necessary takeoffs for assigned products and prepare appropriate Quote (approximately 90% of time).
f. Perform product selection and costing utilizing all internal and external resources including Supplier templates, websites and online portals.
g. Work with Suppliers to obtain special Job Costs for projects over $5,000 as appropriate.
h. Ensure all Quoted products meet the required specifications on the project and maintain working document files as back-up for estimates as necessary.
i. Prepare and submit all Quotes on time and with 100% accuracy.
j. As necessary, interface directly with customers, engineers, or other appropriate parties to provide initial “budget” cost data for project feasibility purposes, and ensure that everyone involved understands that this information is only for budget purposes subject to revision with final plan design.
k. As appropriate, work with Slakey sales and the customer to seek opportunities to provide “alternative product quotes – subject to engineering approval” in order to sell more of Slakey’s commercial products.
l. Work directly with the Customer or with the Outside Sales Team to follow up and “close” each quote into a sale.
Ensure all Sales Orders are properly entered into P21.
m. Thank the customer for their business with Slakey.
n. Ensure that applicable submittals and operating manuals are created as requested by Customers.
o. Manage customer relationships with the goal of increasing bid/sale opportunities.
